Auto road maintenance and reconstruction

Auto road maintenance and reconstruction – probably the most laborious part of road works. The condition of asphalt layer, waysides, elements of road infrastructure should be monitored regularly and defects be repaired in a most efficient way. Especially in spring time the road workers have much trouble, when starts the “season” of pothole repair and cracks filling.

In recent years JSC “TATAVTODOR” workers for pothole repair use jet-injection technique with Magnum plant mfd by CRAFCO and BMC-24.3 unit, and cold asphalt-concrete mix is made with binding MAK.

To raise the quality and efficiency of work, in 2010 we purchased 15 sets of machines for pothole repair, comprising German-made combined road-building machine equipped with thermal bunker for asphalt-concrete mix, mini-roller and road-harrow mounted at the shovel-loader CASE.

For filling the cracks in asphalt-concrete layer they use bitumen mastic and USA-made plant MAGMA 110 DHC.

The quality of servicing of the roads improved significantly in recent years due to:

  • constant and strict control on the part of RT Cabinet of Ministers Commission for Traffic Security;
  • comprehensive inspection of the condition of the roads;
  • monitoring of measures for improvement of roads’ serviceability

Every year in order to improve the quality of road construction JSC “TATAVTODOR” workers repair or install anew:

  • old and broken road signs,
  • signal and dividing posts,
  • protective guards,
  • road marking along about 2,700 km yearly.
